STANDARDIZATION
The FEDERICA project will closely follow standardization work in the the multi-domain area service brokering area of data networking, and is likely to provide contribution in standardization of virtual resources and services.
The standardization effort is dealt in Network Activity 3.
The activity comprises:
-
task TNA3.1 (Interaction with standard bodies and fora) coordinator Afrodite Sevasti (GRNET)
- task TNA3.2 (Liaison with related projects and Initiatives) coordinator Mauro Campanella (GARR)
The project plans to be initially an observer in standardization bodies and task forces to define the best forums for its contributions.
Th effort initially will be in :
- IETF in the Common Control and Measurement Plane (CCAMP) and Virtual Private Networks at various layers
-
OGF and OGF-Europe providing requirements of (virtual) resources and topologies modelling to the OGF NML-WG
An active contribution is in the IPSphere Forum, where FEDERICA became a non-voting member in May 2008.
The effort is directed to contribute to the enhancement of the IPSF framework to include virtualization and in evaluating FEDERICA as a possible use case.
